After the road network, the district's own buildings with a new insurance value of just under € 200 million have the highest share of the district's fixed assets. The buildings have a total area of 165,000 m², which corresponds to about 1,300 single-family homes.
The management and construction costs in 2009 were around € 3 million. In particular, these costs offer considerable savings potential with clever control - especially through the use of CAFM software.
With the introduction of the NKF (New Municipal Financial Management) the merger of the commercial and technical building management became necessary. The organizational merger was based on the expectation that even to a greater extent than before the technical decisions had been shaped by commercial aspects and vice versa, thereby contributing to further savings CAFM would be achieved.
