Test the standard & ensure quality
How is good software controlled so that it gets even better? Answering this question has been my job for a year IMS as the person responsible for quality assurance. Of course, the fact that I used IMSWARE as a user for a long time helps me here, because I know them Software and also the user perspective exactly.
Complex? Why, surely.
Software is complex, and so do IMSWARE and IMSWARE.GO!. And of course my colleagues work very conscientiously in development, like our development manager Kai-Uwe Schiffer did in his Blog post explained. Nevertheless every button and every function wants to and has to be checked again with every release, so that small bumps do not creep in and everything works safely.
The user in the house
My task is divided into two roles, both of which have the same goal: that the user can work reliably with IMSWARE at any time. Therefore, on the one hand, I check every module and every new function from a user perspective and compare the results with the documentation. Are there any deviations? Is everything working as planned? Is the operation conclusive?
In the team on the prowl
In the second part of my job, I get tips from my colleagues and the hotline about errors or unplanned software behavior. Then it is important to reproduce them and document all steps precisely in order to be able to pinpoint the probable triggers as precisely as possible. Or to be able to describe an operating error. Because:
All the results of my work flow directly into the development or back to the hotline, and I receive feedback from the respective department so that we can safely complete each question together. A final function test and the complete documentation of all steps is mandatory.
The goal is always that the customer receives a program that is error-free and that he can reliably benefit from any innovation. Does it always work that way?
With the standardization of the test procedures, some of which I have developed, some of which have been further developed, and the view through the user glasses that ensure that everything is taken into account, we have a very resilient basis. Will it work? The clearest answer is probably the success that IMSWARE has had in the market - and the trend is still rising.
We are sorry that you did not like this post so much.
How can we improve that?
